For templates from the Infographic category, there are two ways to resize a block of your canvas.
You can customize block height by adjusting the canvas manually:
As shown above, you will click on the block you want to resize to select it. There will be a grey, semi-transparent bar defining the boundaries between the blocks. Your cursor will turn into a two-way arrow as you mouse-over this bar. Click it and drag to resize the block height. A small black box will appear to guide you as you resize.
(Please note that this method allows you to quickly resize the height of the block only. If you would like to resize both width and height, you'll follow the method below).
Customize block width and height
First, click the block you want to resize. There are six buttons on the left of the block. Click the cog / gear-shaped button (at the bottom of the six buttons) for settings. A menu will open to set the block size to A4, letter, or custom size - you can choose custom size and enter in custom width and height for Infographic and Printable templates. After you've entered the pixel width, press Enter/Return on your keyboard; after you've entered the pixel height, once again press the Enter/Return key to apply the changes.
It is always best to use a Printable template (report, poster or flyer) if you plan to print your work. If you have already started using an Infographic template, instead, please create a new file with properly sized page by copying your visual's blocks onto another visual. It's not possible to auto-convert a visual from one template format to another, e.g. Infographic to Printable.
What is 'Resize Content'?
The checkbox 'Resize Content' will scale all objects within the selected block accordingly as the block width changes. For example, if the visual's block width is reduced, all object will shrink accordingly. Changing each object’s size separately will not be needed, therefore saving precious time!
If 'Resize Content' is not selected, any changes made on the selected block size will only affect the block and all objects remain untouched and not resized. Note that the width changes will take place on the right side of the block.
Can I change the width and height for Presentation formats?
It's not possible to change the size of blocks on Presentation format templates. Those are scaled to a 4:3 ratio for precise viewing using Presentation Mode.
*Adjusting Block Settings based on Format
Please note the ability to change different block settings differs depending on the template’s format:
Infographic - There is a semi-transparent line at the bottom of the block to adjust height.
Printables - There is no semi-transparent line to adjust height, so the block settings must be set in the block settings to the left of the block. If you change one block to be A4, for example, or if you change one block to be 800 px to 600 px, the size set will apply to ALL blocks.
Presentation - There is no block setting at all as these blocks are a fixed size.
Please note the maximum dimensions for a block (infographics and printables):
Maximum width : 40 inches, 101.6 cm, 3840 px
Maximum height : 50000 pixels for the entire canvas (all blocks combined)
